Chef de Cuisine
Bacchanal is looking for an energetic, passionate and hardworking Chef de Cuisine to lead the kitchen in a bustling nerve center of the Bywater community. The Chef de Cuisine is responsible for the planning and direction of food preparation which involves kitchen management, supervising and training of the kitchen staff, creative problem solving at a moment’s notice and curating a menu with innovative, delicious food, executed impeccably in a high volume, high stress environment.
The Chef de Cuisine must be inventive and adaptable and inspire their staff to go above and beyond the expectations of their particular roles. Although we are a limited service eatery, we take hospitality very seriously and expect all of our staff to have a genuine love of people and a serious passion for wine culture and al fresco dining. This is truly a team environment with no barrier between “Front” and “Back” of the house so the ideal candidate is a natural leader who is capable of managing a large team with kindness, respect and accountability.

Strong knife and line skills: Must be able to kick ass on ALL stations - GM, Saute, Grill & Expo

Knowledge of and enthusiasm for Cheese from all over the world
Impeccable oral and written communication and organizational skills

SENSE OF HUMOR!
Must be able to work on your feet for long hours, reach, bend & stretch, easily navigate stairs & lift carry up to 50 lbs.
10 Years minimum of fine dining Restaurant Experience with at least 2 years as an executive Sous Chef or Chef de Cuisine.
Culinary School a plus! (However, we do not plate with tweezers)
Proficient in Microsoft Office, (specifically spreadsheets) Google Docs a plus
Competitive depending on experience
Applicant will be required to cook a 3 course tasting menu with wine pairing and a Stage as part of the Interview process.
